J. BRAXTON GATELY, PH.D.

Starting in August 2025, I will be an Assistant Professor of Economics in the Kelce College of Business at Pittsburg State University. I am also an affiliate of the Behavioral Economics and Organizations Research Group (BEORG).

​

My primary research field is Behavioral Economics, and I also maintain research interests in Development Economics. I specialize in social

preferences, group dynamics, property rights, and rural issues, with a focus on the usage of experimental methods.

​

Previously, I was an Assistant Professor in the School of Accounting, Finance, Economics, and Decision Sciences at Western Illinois University and a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Economics at Baylor University. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas.
