J. BRAXTON GATELY, PH.D.
I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Accounting, Finance, Economics, and Decision Sciences at Western Illinois University.

Due to mass layoffs at Western Illinois University, I was a job market candidate for the 2024 - 2025 job market cycle.

I have accepted a tenure-track position at a new institution for the 2025 - 2025 academic year, and will have more information in the coming weeks once everything is finalized.

My primary research field is Behavioral Economics, and I also maintain research interests in Development Economics. I specialize in social
preferences, group dynamics, property rights, and rural issues, with a focus on the usage of experimental methods.

Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Economics at Baylor University, and I received my Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas.

I am also an affiliate of the Behavioral Economics and Organizations Research Group (BEORG).
